This artwork by Leonora Carrington achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Modern Evening Auction auction, the work The Garden of Paracelsus sold for USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800,000.00. This high result makes The Garden of Paracelsus the most expensive artwork by Leonora Carrington that we have observed at auctions so far.
