This artwork by Leonetto Cappiello achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in August this year. In the Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash auction, the work Je ne fume que le Nil (Papier à Cigarettes) (I Only Smoke Le Nil) sold for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,771.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 900.00. Admittedly, works by Leonetto Cappiello have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Campari in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 7,012.50 (€ 7,833.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonetto Cappiello erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash wurde die Arbeit Je ne fume que le Nil (Papier à Cigarettes) (I Only Smoke Le Nil) für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.771,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 900,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonetto Cappiello auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Campari im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 7.833,59).
