Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Marsyas by Leonard Baskin. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,050.00 (€ 7,386.07). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Baskin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Isaacangel, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marsyas von Leonard Baskin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.050,00 (€ 7.386,07) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Isaacangel beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18) versteigert wurde.
