Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Bird Man' by Leonard Baskin. The price achieved of USD 4,780.00 (€ 3,888.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonard Baskin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Isaacangel in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Bird Man' von Leonard Baskin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.780,00 (€ 3.888,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Isaacangel im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18).
