Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Color Forms C; and E by Leon Polk Smith was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in March last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,634.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Polk Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Over Red in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 336,500.00 (€ 297,182.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Color Forms C; and E von Leon Polk Smith wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.634,72) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Polk Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Over Red im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 336.500,00 (€ 297.182,73).
