Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Study A, from Themes for A Fin de Siècle by Lawrence Gipe for USD 312.50 (€ 205.77). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Gipe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Panel #2 from Triptych for Boccioni in July 2005 with an auction result of USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,957.46).
