Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Grand Canyon by Laura Gilpin was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,721.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laura Gilpin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Ranchos Church', which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 26,541.53).
