In October 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Temple at Chichen Itza by Laura Gilpin. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,434.36) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Laura Gilpin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Ranchos Church' in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 26,541.53).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Temple at Chichen Itza von Laura Gilpin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.434,36) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laura Gilpin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Ranchos Church' im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 26.541,53).
