Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Little Medicine Man, 1932 by Laura Gilpin was sold in the Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection auction at Christies in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 8,820.00 (€ 8,370.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laura Gilpin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Ranchos Church', which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 26,541.53).

Die Arbeit The Little Medicine Man, 1932 von Laura Gilpin wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 8.370,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Laura Gilpin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Ranchos Church' beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 26.541,53) versteigert wurde.
