In November last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included this untitled work by Larry Poons. The »bidding war« ended at USD 126,000.00 (€ 122,057.54), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Larry Poons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jessica's Hartford in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,150,000.00 (€ 1,043,651.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Larry Poons zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 122.057,54) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Larry Poons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jessica's Hartford im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.150.000,00 (€ 1.043.651,87).
