Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Larry Poons achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work without title sold for USD 157,500.00 (€ 146,771.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Larry Poons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jessica's Hartford in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,150,000.00 (€ 1,043,651.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Larry Poons erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 157.500,00 (€ 146.771,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Larry Poons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jessica's Hartford im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.150.000,00 (€ 1.043.651,87).
