In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Glistering as Stars by Koon Wai Bong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,273.32), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Koon Wai Bong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gentlemen (Set Of Thirty-Six), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 44,129.72).

Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Glistering as Stars von Koon Wai Bong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.273,32) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Koon Wai Bong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gentlemen (Set Of Thirty-Six) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 44.129,72) versteigert wurde.
