The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,251.64), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Koon Wai Bong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gentlemen (Set Of Thirty-Six) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 44,129.72).

Die Arbeit Bamboo Mating for Life von Koon Wai Bong wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.251,64) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Koon Wai Bong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gentlemen (Set Of Thirty-Six) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 44.129,72).
