This artwork by Koon Wai Bong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Gentleman sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 16,890.22) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Koon Wai Bong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gentlemen (Set Of Thirty-Six), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 44,129.72).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Koon Wai Bong erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Gentleman für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 16.890,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Koon Wai Bong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gentlemen (Set Of Thirty-Six) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 44.129,72) versteigert wurde.
