Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Preliminary Sketch for Black Painting by Kerry James Marshall was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2020. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,668.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kerry James Marshall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Past Times in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 21,114,500.00 (€ 18,092,973.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Preliminary Sketch for Black Painting von Kerry James Marshall kam im März 2020 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.668,15) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kerry James Marshall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Past Times im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.114.500,00 (€ 18.092.973,44).
