Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kenzo Okada achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2012. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Stream sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,810.86) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenzo Okada - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homage, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 107,112.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kenzo Okada erzielte im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Stream für USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.810,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenzo Okada mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homage beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 107.112,25) versteigert wurde.
