Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Muted No. 2 by Kenzo Okada was sold in the Contemporary auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 26,393.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kenzo Okada have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Homage in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 107,112.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Muted No. 2 von Kenzo Okada wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion Contemporary bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 26.393,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kenzo Okada auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Homage im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 107.112,25).
