Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work Suprematism, 18Th Construction by Kazimir Malevich. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000,000.00 – 30,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,429,000.00 (€ 30,214,621.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kazimir Malevich - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Suprematist Composition, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 85,812,500.00 (€ 73,532,562.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Suprematism, 18Th Construction von Kazimir Malevich zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000.000,00 – 30.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 21.429.000,00 (€ 30.214.621,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kazimir Malevich mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Suprematist Composition beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 85.812.500,00 (€ 73.532.562,13) versteigert wurde.
