In May 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Untitled (Immo) by Kai Althoff. The »bidding war« ended at USD 162,500.00 (€ 144,624.42), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kai Althoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Antonius Eremita in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 682,000.00 (€ 769,085.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Immo) von Kai Althoff zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 144.624,42) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kai Althoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Antonius Eremita im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 682.000,00 (€ 769.085,60).
