The work First Sleep by Justin Ponmany was sold in the Indian Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2008. It achieved a price of GBP 41,300.00 (€ 52,535.40), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justin Ponmany - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory), which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 109,250.00 (€ 138,095.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit First Sleep von Justin Ponmany wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Indian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 41.300,00 (€ 52.535,40) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Für andere Arbeiten von Justin Ponmany mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 109.250,00 (€ 138.095,66) versteigert wurde.
