Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Justin Ponmany could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,278.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Justin Ponmany have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 138,095.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Justin Ponmany konnte im März 2009 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 37.500,00 (€ 28.278,41) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Justin Ponmany auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 109.250,00 (€ 138.095,66).
