Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Justin Ponmany for HKD 560,000.00 (€ 56,962.62). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justin Ponmany - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory), which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 109,250.00 (€ 138,095.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2008 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Justin Ponmany für HKD 560.000,00 (€ 56.962,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Justin Ponmany mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 109.250,00 (€ 138.095,66) versteigert wurde.
