Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Donald) by Joyce Pensato. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 88,200.00 (€ 85,440.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joyce Pensato - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset Batman, which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 2,250,000.00 (€ 237,326.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Donald) von Joyce Pensato zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 85.440,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Joyce Pensato mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset Batman beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 2.250.000,00 (€ 237.326,25) versteigert wurde.
