Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Smackdown! Lisa by Joyce Pensato was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 76,200.00 (€ 71,522.43). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joyce Pensato - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset Batman, which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 2,250,000.00 (€ 237,326.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Smackdown! Lisa von Joyce Pensato wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 76.200,00 (€ 71.522,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Joyce Pensato mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset Batman beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 2.250.000,00 (€ 237.326,25) versteigert wurde.
