Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Margate Batman, from Save the Children ONE HUNDRED YEARS Print Portfolio by Joyce Pensato was auctioned at Phillips in London in September this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,778.00 (€ 1,778.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joyce Pensato achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset Batman in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 2,250,000.00 (€ 237,326.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Margate Batman, from Save the Children ONE HUNDRED YEARS Print Portfolio von Joyce Pensato im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.778,00 (€ 1.778,00) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joyce Pensato erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset Batman im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.250.000,00 (€ 237.326,25).
