This artwork by Jordi Ribes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Party B sold for USD 76,200.00 (€ 71,522.43) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jordi Ribes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 1,386,000.00 (€ 167,577.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jordi Ribes erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Party B für USD 76.200,00 (€ 71.522,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jordi Ribes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 1.386.000,00 (€ 167.577,49) versteigert wurde.
