A top price for Jordi Ribes
When this work without title by Jordi Ribes was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 250,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 1,386,000.00 (€ 167,577.49). This high result makes the work without title the most expensive artwork by Jordi Ribes that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Jordi Ribes
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Jordi Ribes im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 250.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 1.386.000,00 (€ 167.577,49) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht das Werk ohne Titel zum teuersten Kunstwerk von Jordi Ribes, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
