This artwork by Jonathan Richardson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2018. In the Old Masters/New Scholars: Works of Art Sold to Benefit Rugby School auction, the work Portrait of John Locke (1632-1704) sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,659.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jonathan Richardson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Group Portrait of The Artist And His Son, Jonathan, With John Milton, Three-Quarter-Length, On A Balcony in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 39,126.47).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jonathan Richardson erzielte im Dezember 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters/New Scholars: Works of Art Sold to Benefit Rugby School wurde die Arbeit Portrait of John Locke (1632-1704) für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.659,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jonathan Richardson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Group Portrait of The Artist And His Son, Jonathan, With John Milton, Three-Quarter-Length, On A Balcony im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 39.126,47).
