In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale : The Langford Hall Collection, Nottinghamshire - Property of the late Mr & Mrs Patrick Radford, which included the work Portrait of Ann, Countess of Dartmouth (d.1751), seated three-quarter-length, in a burgundy dress, a coronet on a ledge at her side by Jonathan Richardson. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,116.97). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jonathan Richardson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Group Portrait of The Artist And His Son, Jonathan, With John Milton, Three-Quarter-Length, On A Balcony, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 26,400.00 (€ 39,126.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
