In the Old Masters/New Scholars: Works of Art Sold to Benefit Rugby School auction, the work Portrait of John Milton (1608-1674) sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,874.14) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jonathan Richardson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Group Portrait of The Artist And His Son, Jonathan, With John Milton, Three-Quarter-Length, On A Balcony in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 39,126.47).
