Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Group Self-portrait in "Mirror #3 (Six Panels)" (Mary, Mike, Gil, Jan, Ryan, Emet) by Jonathan Horowitz for GBP 68,750.00 (€ 78,293.42). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale at Phillips in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 70,000.00 – 90,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jonathan Horowitz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Obama '08, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 223,500.00 (€ 211,287.58).
