Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work Pillow Talk Prints (Gilbert and George) by Jonathan Horowitz for GBP 1,134.00 (€ 1,290.14). This price was achieved in the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jonathan Horowitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Obama '08 in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 223,500.00 (€ 211,287.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pillow Talk Prints (Gilbert and George) von Jonathan Horowitz für GBP 1.134,00 (€ 1.290,14) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jonathan Horowitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Obama '08 im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 223.500,00 (€ 211.287,58).
