It achieved a price of USD 107,100.00 (€ 96,547.37), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jonathan Chapline - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing), which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 224,383.56).
