Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sketch for Sculpture on Table by Jonathan Chapline was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. It changed hands for a price of HKD 56,700.00 (€ 6,855.44) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jonathan Chapline achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) in May last year with an auction result of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 224,383.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sketch for Sculpture on Table von Jonathan Chapline kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 56.700,00 (€ 6.855,44) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jonathan Chapline erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 224.383,56).
