A top price for Jonathan Chapline
When the work Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) by Jonathan Chapline was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 280,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 224,383.56). This high result makes Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) the most expensive artwork by Jonathan Chapline that we have observed at auctions so far.
