Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Der Kurs (The Curse) by Jon Kessler was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 624.11). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jon Kessler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Favela) in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,977.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Der Kurs (The Curse) von Jon Kessler im Juni 2009 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 875,00 (€ 624,11) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jon Kessler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Favela) im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.977,32).
