Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Slimy JW by John Waters was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2007. The price achieved of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,084.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Waters have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Campaign Button in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,217.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Slimy JW von John Waters kam im November 2007 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.084,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Waters auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Campaign Button im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.217,79).
