Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Waters achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2015. In the First Open / LDN auction, the work Artistically Incorrect sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,505.05) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Waters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Campaign Button, which sold at auction in September 2019 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,217.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Waters erzielte im März 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open / LDN wurde die Arbeit Artistically Incorrect für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.505,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Waters mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Campaign Button beobachtet, die im September 2019 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.217,79) versteigert wurde.
