Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Il Ponte held the auction Fotografia, which included the work Shut Up 2001 by John Waters. The price achieved of EUR 1,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Waters achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Campaign Button in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,217.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Il Ponte die Auktion Fotografia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shut Up 2001 von John Waters zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.400,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Waters erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Campaign Button im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.217,79).
