Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Torreano could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction, the work Gold Diamond changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 551.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Torreano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Oxygems (5 works), which sold at auction in December last year for USD 2,295.00 (€ 2,145.26).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Torreano konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints wechselte die Arbeit Gold Diamond für USD 625,00 (€ 551,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Torreano mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Oxygems (5 works) beobachtet, die im Dezember letzten Jahres für USD 2.295,00 (€ 2.145,26) versteigert wurde.
