Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Modernist Head in Profile (Profile Head with Cap) (Hirschl & Adler Galleries 77) by John Bradley Storrs was sold in the 19th and 20th Century Prints auction at Christies in New York in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,232.50 (€ 2,567.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bradley Storrs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Sculpture in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 290,500.00 (€ 202,072.90).
