Chantecaille is the name of the 15th-century château that John H.B. Storrs bought in 1921 in Mer-Loir-et-Cher, France. This became Storrs' primary residence for the remainder of his life.

In the American Art Online auction, the work Chantecaille (Seated Man) sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,860.14) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bradley Storrs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Sculpture in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 290,500.00 (€ 202,072.90).
