Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Boy with Catfish (Fountain) 31 1/2 in. (80 cm.) high by John Bradley Storrs. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,300.00 (€ 14,257.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bradley Storrs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Sculpture in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 290,500.00 (€ 202,072.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boy with Catfish (Fountain) 31 1/2 in. (80 cm.) high von John Bradley Storrs zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 14.257,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bradley Storrs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract Sculpture im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 290.500,00 (€ 202.072,90).
