Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work White Trailer House by John Salt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,940.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Salt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "School bus and red pick-up" in November 2012 with an auction result of SEK 1,000,000.00 (€ 115,372.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit White Trailer House von John Salt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.940,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Salt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "School bus and red pick-up" im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 1.000.000,00 (€ 115.372,79).
