Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 150,000.00 (€ 130,958.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Ruskin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
