Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nine studies for 'The Elements of Drawing' by John Ruskin was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ruskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
