Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper, which included the work Ariccia, Near Rome by John Ruskin. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,461.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ruskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ariccia, Near Rome von John Ruskin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.461,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ruskin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 274.050,00 (€ 393.402,83).
