This artwork by John Plumb achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2014. In the Made In Britain auction, the work Colour Ladder #6 sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,215.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Plumb; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Colour Barrier sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,888.31).
