Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Pictures and Prints Online, which included the work Devorgilla Bridge, Dumfries by John MacWhirter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 637.50 (€ 725.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John MacWhirter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Exile's Garden in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 18,812.00 (€ 21,294.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Pictures and Prints Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Devorgilla Bridge, Dumfries von John MacWhirter zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 637,50 (€ 725,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John MacWhirter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Exile's Garden im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.812,00 (€ 21.294,06).
