Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Glen Sannox, Isle Of Arran by John MacWhirter. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,052.38). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John MacWhirter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Exile's Garden, which sold at auction in May 2019 for GBP 18,812.00 (€ 21,294.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Glen Sannox, Isle Of Arran von John MacWhirter zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.052,38) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John MacWhirter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Exile's Garden beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für GBP 18.812,00 (€ 21.294,06) versteigert wurde.
